Ever since I was a child, I've been experiencing paranormal energies around me that I got used to it from then on. But that was in the Philippines, where it's very common for most people to encounter such happenings. But I am already here in the USA. Here in this country, especially in California, they are very rare. I never thought that I will still be able to have that scary experience until last night.
Yesterday, my dear friend and I watched Paranormal Activity. It really scared the hell out of us. After it, we moved on and did some stuff. Then night came, and it was time for bed. My son and I were the only ones in the house, and I did the usual routine of checking the doors and lights before sleeping. I was very sure that I turned the fan on and put it on oscillating mode so it won't freeze us off by dawn. Around 2 AM, I woke up and found myself hurrying to cover myself with a blanket because the fan was, for whatever reason, on the steady mode. I thought maybe my brother was still up. But no sight of him, except for just me and my son. It scared me like crazy, to the point that I wasn't able to sleep until an hour and a half later.
Morning came and I still had that chilling moment in my head. I met my friend at Border's and kinda talked about the movie. Evening came and I became curious to ask my son; who knows, maybe he did it. I asked him and I got an even more chilling surprise: he told me that he did woke up and used the bathroom and heard something jerk the fan like it bumped on it. When he checked, he saw a shadow moved from beside the fan and disappeared. It was rather of an elf's or something else because he described it to be of a short or small height.
Now that I heard my son's side of the story, I am a bit scared for him. As much as me seeing or feeling psychic phenomena ever since I was 7 is quite exciting for others, I really don't like the idea of that gene being passed down to my son, too. Although if he has it, I'll be more than very supportive. But hopefully this will be the last time he will experience something like this. Really.
